What could be nicer than the feel of smooth hot stones massaging away the cold, stress, tension, tiredness, aches and pains?

What is Foot Stone Therapy?

Foot Stone Therapy, incorporates Hot Stone Massage, aromatherapy oils, crystals and coloured light to create a truly wonderful, balancing and relaxing experience.

The heat from the stones feels great and is also wholly therapeutic - helping detox the body and relaxing the nervous system. The stones used are smooth, volcanic basalt that retain their heat on the body for as long as possible.

Smooth cool crystals are then used after the heat of the hot stones to stimulate the feet leaving you feeling completely refreshed and invigorated.

What happens during a treatment?

Before your treatment our therapist will carry out a full and confidential consultation and assessment of your needs. As an experienced Aromatherapist she will also make up a blend of oils especially for you according to your likes and requirements to use in the foot massage.

The feet are first cleansed, exfoliated and massaged. Then hot stones are used to relax, increase the circulation, stimulate detoxification and reduce aches, pains and fatigue. Cool stones can then be used to refresh, stimulate and reduce inflammation. We can then go back to the warm stones depending on your preferences.

The therapist will then work on balancing your chakras. “Chakra” is a Sanskrit word which means wheel. These non-physical energy centres can be affected by stress and become out of balance, affecting the body in many ways. Each chakra is linked with the hormone glands and to areas of the body. It is believed that the universal life force enters the body to feed and nourish us via the chakras. There are 7 major chakras and many more minor ones

If a chakra is out of balance, the hormone gland and related areas of the body may not function as well as they should. The chakras are represented on the spine reflexes on the feet and in the same way as we can treat a whole person through their feet with reflexology, we can also effectively balance the chakras via the feet.

A colour has been attributed to each chakra so they can be brought back into balance by using different coloured crystals and coloured light. Visualising each colour as the chakra is being worked on is also very effective.

Even if this form of energy healing does not make sense to you, give it a try as if nothing else you will experience a mini “pedi-spa” and a wonderfully relaxing foot massage.

Does it hurt?

The therapist handles the hot stones herself before putting them on your body so she will check they are at the right temperature. If they do feel too hot at any time, then the temperature can be reduced.
