PSYCHOTHERAPY
We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to talking therapy. That is why we have assembled a diverse team of skilled practitioners
Psychotherapy:
Renaissance owner and practice manager Cheryl Livesey is a UKCP-accredited integrative psychotherapist with current availability for couples or supervisees. She has an MSc from the Metanoia Institute and is a supervisor with a Diploma from the Centre for Supervision and Team Development (CSTD-Bath). This meets all UKCP’s requirements as a “Recognised Supervisor Training”. She combines humanistic approaches (including Transactional Analysis and Gestalt), psychodynamic concepts (unconscious process and attachment) and existential therapy (for mortality, spirituality, meaning and the transpersonal).
Counselling:
Staff Therapist Charlotte Povey is a Registered Member of BACP (MBACP) and an NCS accredited integrative counsellor and hypnotherapist helping clients with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, sexual abuse and bereavement. Her approach combines humanistic, psychodynamic and aspects of cognitive behavioural therapy.
Staff Therapist Shofna Begum is an integrative counsellor, who is a individual member of BACP and an Accredited member of the NCPS. She draws in and utilises a number of different theories including: Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Person-Centred. She has also taken the time to complete different Continuing Professional Development courses, including: phobias, hypnotherapy and meridian therapy.
Staff Therapist Sophia Abdi is a counsellor who helps clients go beyond the surface to uncover the root causes of distress using mindfulness, self-compassion and somatic techniques. She supports clients in building self-awareness and practical tools for lasting well-being in the midst of anxiety, past trauma or self-doubt. She offers a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients can heal and grow. As someone who understands how overwhelming life’s challenges can feel, Sophia offers culturally sensitive support to help clients develop in a safe space.
